For more than 40 years, Lori O’Leary, has dedicated her life to helping others find healing, strength, and meaningful personal growth. As the Founder, Owner, and President of O’Leary Counseling, LLC in Barrington, New Jersey, Lori has built an extraordinary career rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, research, and leadership. Lori pursued her education at Rutgers University, Camden and Rowan University, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology with a concentration in addictive disorders. Her academic achievements include membership in Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence.

Beginning her career in 1985, Lori gained extensive experience in mental health counseling, addiction treatment, eating disorders, adolescent behavioral health, and psychological research. Her professional background includes work in inpatient detoxification, substance abuse education, and research involving post-concussion syndrome and addiction relapse. In 2000, Lori established the private practice that would become O’Leary Counseling, LLC, creating a welcoming environment dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized mental health services throughout Barrington, Camden County, and surrounding South Jersey communities.

Beyond her clinical accomplishments, Lori is an Approved Clinical Supervisor, mentoring developing counselors and helping shape the next generation of mental health professionals. Her leadership extends beyond the individuals she has personally helped, creating a lasting impact through the knowledge, experience, and guidance she shares with others. Following the loss of her husband and longtime business partner, Paul, in September 2024, Lori continued leading the practice they built together, demonstrating remarkable resilience, dedication, and perseverance. Throughout her career, Lori has remained committed to helping individuals better understand themselves, overcome emotional challenges, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. Her extensive experience, professional achievements, and compassionate approach continue to shape the mission and values of O’Leary Counseling.

Lori’s legacy is measured not only by her decades of professional accomplishments, but by the lives she has touched, the counselors she has mentored, and the lasting difference she continues to make in the mental health community.
