Anxiety Process Group

Anxiety Process Group

Meets every other Tuesday for 9 weeks at 6pm.

Facilitated by Aaron Jones, MA, LAC

This group is intended for adults 18 years and up who are struggling with anxiety and are in need of social support. The group is educational at times, but it is primarily process oriented. Member are expected to discuss their personal struggles with anxiety and actively engage with one another in order to benefit.

Since all our counselors work as a team, we offer a well rounded treatment plan to benefit your entire family. Research has shown that having a strong social support network will increase resiliency to stress and other mental health obstacles. Our goal is to teach you how to build those supports, and to work at mending the ones that may be damaged using acceptance, caring, AND the ability to recognize when to let go.

Meet Your Counselor
Aaron Jones, MA, LAC

Aaron completed his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rowan University. He has worked with clients at various levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), partial care (PC), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient (OP) counseling. Aaron has gained the majority of his experience working with adult clients to address a variety of severe and chronic clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, psychosis, and
personality disorders.

Aaron’s approach to psychotherapy is primarily Person-Centered; by experiencing unconditional positive regard in the context of the therapeutic relationship, people can safely explore their psychological pain and gain deep insight that will enable them to enact lasting positive change in their lives. Aaron also utilizes elements of Cognitive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Psychodynamic/Transference-Focused interventions in order to identify and alter unhelpful thinking patterns, build readiness for change, teach skills for
self-regulation, and address barriers that inhibit the relationship between therapist and client. In addition, Aaron conducts group therapy and believes that the majority of clients seeking individual counseling can also benefit significantly from participation in a therapeutic group.
