Sonna holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rowan University. She is a Licensed Associate Counselor for the state of New Jersey, and is currently accumulating hours to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her experience stems from working in community mental health with individuals, couples, children and families. Sonna has worked with clients of all ages throughout the lifespan, including children and the elderly, while addressing depression, anxiety, grief, and other psychiatric issues.
Sonna works from a client-focused approach while addressing interpersonal dynamics in order to assist clients with meeting their goals. She is an advocate in self-care as she believes that, without self-care, it is more difficult to address our responsibilities. Sonna’s other clinical interests include mindfulness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance as these components have an impact on the quality of interpersonal relationships and the conflicts clients face on a daily basis.
