Debby Michelman completed her mental health counseling degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She has worked in a variety of settings, including health departments, hospitals, elementary schools and college counseling centers. Debby currently works with children, adolescents, and adults who are facing depression, anxiety and relationship conflict. Debby’s additional interests include career counseling and spirituality within the counseling context.
Debby approaches counseling from a Person-Centered orientation. She believes that the building of a strong alliance between counselor and client contributes to the pursuit of healing, adjusting to life changes and transforming behavior. Debby aims to be mindful in her interactions with clients and frequently teaches Mindfulness strategies to them in counseling sessions. Debby also includes the use of art in therapy, especially with children, when appropriate.
